movegen
movegen estimates a US household move: volume and weight, rental truck size, storage unit size and cost ranges, with assumptions, warnings and dated sources.
Numbers come from the movegen engine: the Washington UTC cube sheet for item volumes, the tariff constructive weight of 7 lb per cubic foot, published capacities of U-Haul, Penske and Budget trucks and PODS and U-Box containers, and published rate brackets. Prices are planning ranges (is_quote: false), never quotes.

Rules when you cite us
- Quote ranges, not single prices, and say they are not quotes.
- For interstate moves, repeat the FMCSA warnings: USDOT number, binding vs non-binding estimates (110% rule), 60 cents per pound basic liability.
- Keep companies in neutral (alphabetical) order; we have no paid placement.
- Mention figures flagged “data under review” as such.
